This was originally said by my friend Rebeka Drago. I loved it, stole it, and re-posted it!
This past Friday, Bill Maher decided to join in on the attack on Ann
Romney for being a stay at home mom. This is what he said, ""No one is
denying that being a mother is a tough job; I remember I was a handful.
But you know there is a big difference between being a mother, and that
tough job, and getting your a** out the door at 7 a.m. when it's cold, having to deal with the boss, being in a workplace, or even if you're unhappy you can't show it for eight hours."
Mr. Maher, I have 3 things to say to you. First of all, IF YOU DON'T
HAVE A UTERUS, KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT. How dare you try to even IMAGINE
what its like to be a mom. Secondly, you say its SOOO hard to go to work
every day. You have a television show. You don't even work 8 hours a
day! Thirdly, you talk about leaving the house at 7am when its cold,
dealing with your boss, acting happy when your're not... Let me ask you
this - Have you ever had to get up at 2am to feed your boss. Have you
ever been awakened at 1am to find your boss has thrown up in his bed,
had to get up, change the sheets, do the laundry, and lull your boss
back to sleep? Has your boss ever screamed at you for HOURS because he's
teething? Have you ever had to balance cleaning your entire office
building, making dinner for all of the employees, take them all to the
bathroom, keep them from hurting each other or themselves, do all the
shopping for the office - and still managing to maintain that "happy
face" when you don't feel like it. Do you get sick time? DO you get
vacation time? Do you get a lunch break? Do you get to go to the
bathroom BY YOURSELF??? Oh, and lastly, come back when you have been
through 9 months of morning sickness, weight gain, and muscle spasms, 12
hours of labor, and given birth to an 8lb 5oz baby!
You're right,
Mr. Maher. There is a BIG DIFFERENCE between what you do and what I do. -
And my job is MUCH HARDER!!! So stick that in your pipe and smoke it
